The Tudors

They say that Renaissance Era is the romantic era, but the story of King Henry VIII and his wives is quite tragic and complicated. He thinks of himself as the most powerful one.

The series begins when the King marries his first wife, Queen Katherine of Aragon (Maria Doyle Kennedy). The King wanted a son with Queen Katherine but unfortunately the Queen did not bear any son, with this he divorced the Queen and married Anne Boleyn. The Pope of the Catholic Church disagrees with the King’s separation to Queen Katherine of Aragon, but the King’s mind is set on marrying Anne Boelyn. With this he ordered to build the Church of England for the Pope to reconsider his separation and approved his marriage to Boelyn.

The King married Queen Anne Boelyn played by Natalie Domer. The Queen did not give King Henry the son that he wanted, but gave him a daughter who we knew now as Queen Elizabeth I. However, Queen Anne’s fate was tragic when the King’s order her to be beheaded because of adultery.

The third wife of the King was Jane Seymour (Annabelle Wallis), the Queen finally gave the King the son he longed for in a long time, Prince Edward. Unfortunately, Queen Jane died giving birth to the Prince. Queen Seymour is considered to be the ideal wife of the King. In the series the King is seen grieving for the death of his beloved Queen.

The Tudors

After Queen Seymour’s death the King met Anne of Cleves (Joss Stone), they were paired together but the King did not felt anything for her and divorced her. Although, he treated Anne of Cleves as his sister and they remained friends.

In the end of last season, the King married Catherine Howard portrayed by Tanzim Merchant, history says that the Queen Catherine is also found guilty of adultery and had been beheaded.

The fourth season will be King Henry VIII sixth marriage, it is with Catherine Parr who will star Joelyn Richardson. Queen Catherine was left widowed after the King died.

This series illustrates the King’s unique way of punishing people who betrays him. Its plot is amazing, intriguing, back stabbing and romance with the shameless King.
