King Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers)
Henry is the second son of King Henry VII and Queen Elizabeth of York. He studied to be in the seminary when he was a young boy, but he was made Prince of Wales, therefore the next in line to be King, when he was 11 because his older brother died. He married his brother’s widow, Katherine of Aragon, shortly before he was crowned King of England.

Henry was not a faithful husband. He hasn’t yet produced a son, and this causes him to be more distant to his wife. He was described to be a spoiled and pampered ruler. He was mesmerized by Anne Boleyn, and decided to divorce Katherine and marry Anne. They were finally married in September, 1533 and had a daughter who would be Queen Elizabeth.
He accused Anne of being unfaithful and had her executed three years later. He married Jane Seymour and they had a son, Edward.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the role of King Henry VIII. Jonathan was born July 27, 1977 in Dublin, Ireland. He was nominated in the Emmy’s and won a Golden Globe for Best Actor for his role as Elvis Presley in the miniseries Elvis.
